Horizon — Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 25, 2026

This policy explains what information the mobile game Horizon ("the game") collects, why, and what choices you have. Horizon is developed by Fırat Güney Köseoğlu ("we", "us"). Questions: hello@guney.app.

Summary

Information we collect

1. Game data and cloud save

When you play, the game creates an anonymous account (a random ID, shown in the game as your Player ID at the bottom of Settings). Your save file — colony progress, collection, currencies, purchase records and settings — is stored on your device and backed up to our cloud database so it is not lost if the app's storage is cleared.

This data is not linked to your name or contact details. We use it only to run the game and restore your progress. The key that keeps you signed in to this anonymous account is stored in your device's secure storage (Keychain), so your progress can come back if you reinstall the game.

If your save file ever becomes unreadable, the game sends an untouched copy of it to our cloud database so we can repair it and restore your colony. Only we can read these copies.

Provider: Supabase (database and anonymous sign-in).

2. Sign in with Apple (optional)

You can link your colony to your Apple ID in Settings → Account to keep your progress when you change phones. Apple then shares with us a stable user identifier and an email address — either your real one or a private relay address if you choose "Hide My Email". We use them only to sign you in and link your save. We do not receive your name. If you delete your account, we also revoke the game's access to your Apple ID.

Providers: Apple, Supabase.

3. Purchases

In-app purchases are processed by Apple. Apple shares with us, through our purchase provider RevenueCat, a record of what was bought and when (product, transaction ID, date) together with an anonymous customer ID. We use this to deliver your purchase and to restore it (for example, Horizon Clearance on a new device). We do not receive your Apple ID, name or payment details.

Provider: RevenueCat.

4. Ads

The game shows rewarded video ads only when you choose to watch one. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which may collect:

Google uses this data to show, measure and improve ads, and to prevent fraud. If you do not allow tracking, you may still see ads, but they will not be personalized using your advertising identifier.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the game asks for your consent using Google's consent form before personalized ads are shown. In U.S. states with privacy laws, you can opt out of personalized ads. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy choices.

Provider: Google AdMob (including Google's User Messaging Platform).

Google's policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy — how Google uses data from partner apps: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

5. Gameplay analytics

To understand how the game is played and fix problems, the game sends gameplay events to our analytics provider, GameAnalytics: for example when you rank up, open a package, spend or earn in-game currency, watch a rewarded ad, or make a purchase (the product and its price, not your payment details), and error reports when something in the game breaks. Each event carries a random ID created when you install the game, basic device information (model, operating system, language, country derived from your IP address) and the game version.

This analytics ID is not linked to your Player ID, your Apple ID or your email address, and it is not used for advertising. You can turn analytics off at any time in Settings → Share gameplay data; no events are sent after that.

Provider: GameAnalytics — https://gameanalytics.com/privacy

6. Game Center (optional)

If you are signed in to Game Center on your device, the game reports your achievements and leaderboard scores (your highest rank and your total Aspect levels) to Apple. Game Center is run by Apple under Apple's privacy policy; we do not receive your Game Center profile.

7. Messages from us

The game can show announcements and compensation gifts that we publish (for example after an outage). A message may be addressed to a single Player ID. No data is collected from you when you read or collect one.

8. Notifications

If you allow notifications, reminders (for example, "your free package is ready") are scheduled on your device. No notification data is sent to us.

9. Colony name and event rankings

The colony name you choose is shown to other players in event rankings, together with your event score and the frame and title you picked from the ones earned in the game. We store them with your event score under your anonymous ID. Names with offensive words are not accepted, and other players can report a name: the name is then hidden from them, and a name reported by several players is hidden for everyone. We store who reported which player (anonymous IDs only) to run this. You can change your colony name in Settings.

What we don't collect

We do not collect your name, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos, health data or browsing history. We only receive an email address if you choose Sign in with Apple. We do not sell your personal information for money.

How we use information

Sharing

We share data only with the service providers listed above (Supabase, RevenueCat, Google AdMob, GameAnalytics) and Apple, who process it to provide their services. These providers may store data on servers outside your country. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone for money (see U.S. state privacy rights below about ads).

How long we keep it

Your cloud save is kept for as long as you play, and deleted when you delete your account (or ask us to). Copies of unreadable saves are deleted with your account. Gameplay analytics are kept by GameAnalytics according to its retention policy and are not linked to your account. Purchase records may be kept longer where the law requires us to (for example, for tax and accounting). Ad providers keep data according to their own policies.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, Turkey's KVKK or U.S. state privacy laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your data, to object to or restrict its processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your local data protection authority. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.

U.S. state privacy rights

Under some U.S. state laws (for example in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and Utah), letting our ad partner use data such as your advertising identifier or app activity to personalize ads may count as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, or as "targeted advertising". We do not sell your data for money. You can opt out at any time in the game: Settings → Privacy choices. You can also turn off tracking in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. After you opt out, you may still see ads, but they will not be personalized.

Categories of personal information involved: identifiers (advertising identifier, anonymous game ID, analytics ID, email address if you use Sign in with Apple), internet or other electronic network activity (ad interactions, gameplay events), approximate location (from IP address), commercial information (purchase records). We do not collect sensitive personal information. To exercise your other rights (access, deletion, correction), email hello@guney.app with your Player ID; you may appeal a decision by replying to our answer.

Children

Horizon is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections and stored with access controls: each anonymous account can only read and write its own save.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the game.
